Ladysmith (WKOW) - According to our affiliate in Eau Claire, WQOW, a road in Ladysmith was closed as crews work to clean up a train derailment.
Around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, Ladysmith police say a Canadian National train was passing through when one car derailed.
Another tilted on the tracks, coming to rest on Miner Ave. No one was hurt.
The train hit a gas line leading to a business, which led to a gas leak. We Energies arrived on scene and shut off the gas valve. The leak lasted a short time and there were no evacuations. The cause of the derailment is unknown. Miner Ave. is expected to be closed most of the day while crews clean the area.
