Two injured after motorcycle accident on beltline overnight

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) --- Two people were injured after their motorcycle lost control and crashed off the beltline early Friday morning.

The crash happened on the West Beltline Highway between Whitney Way and Midvale Blvd just before 2 a.m.

Madison Police report that the motorcycle driver and passenger were drinking together before the accident at a local tavern.

The report says that a 45-year-old Madison man rolled up his jacket for his 28-year-old female passenger to sit on because there was no second seat.

That jacket was tangled in the wheel while driving and caused the motocycle to seize.

Both parties were not wearing a helmet and were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
