TOWN OF LYONS (WKOW) -- A 24-year-old Burlington woman is dead after a one-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Walworth County.

According to the Walworth County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the crash on Cranberry Road near Berndt Road at 5:30 a.m. and found a severely damaged vehicle in the road. Officials say the driver, Danielle Lee Heath, had been traveling east on Cranberry Road at a high rate of speed and lost control after cresting a hill. The vehicle crossed the center line, struck a tree in the west bound ditch line, and stopped in the roadway where it was discovered by a passerby. Heath died at the scene.
