Annual Dog Fest brings out a crowd

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Dog owners brought their four-legged friends to an annual Sun Prairie event Sunday to celebrate all things canine.

The annual Mounds Dog Fest was held at Angell Park as a way for owners to interact with their dogs in a unique way, including a variety of canine contests, appearances from local K9 units and other 'paws on' activities.

"A lot of customers want to get a dog into a new sport, there are plenty of hands on things for them to try out. If their dog really likes dock diving, or agility, or lure coursing. It's an opportunity for them to try something that they wouldn't otherwise get the opportunity to try," says organizer Heather Sullivan.

Many local animal rescue groups were also at Dog Fest to spread the word about the organizations that help animals.

This is the 17th year of Dog Fest.
