Mother arrested in OWI crash that injured her children

TOWN OF TRENTON (WKOW) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says a mother was arrested for driving intoxicated and getting into a crash, injuring her two children in the vehicle.

Around 9 p.m. Sunday night, deputies were called to the crash on State Highway 68 near Laurel Hill Road in the town of Trenton, which is near Waupun.

Investigators say the driver lost control while going around a curve and the vehicle came to rest in the north ditch.

A 4-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl inside the vehicle were hurt. The Sheriff's Office says their injuries are not severe. The driver, a 28-year-old woman from Waupun, was not injured.

The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated causing injury with minor passengers. She was taken to the Dodge County Detention Facility. She has not been identified.
