UPDATE: One seriously injured after crash on Highway 14 south of Oregon
UPDATE (WKOW) --- One person is in the hospital with serious life threatening injuries and three others with non-life threatening injuries after a crash in the Town of Rutland Friday morning.
The Dane County Sheriff's Office says around 10:48 a.m. a 2006 Mack MR64 Waste Management truck was Southbound on U.S Highway 14 when it slowed to make a pick up. As the Waste Management truck slowed down it was struck from behind by a Southbound 2008 GMC Savana beer delivery truck. The beer delivery truck was then rear ended by a Southbound 1999 Chevy Suburban. After initial contact the Suburban crossed the centerline and struck a Northbound 2006 Chevy Blazer head on.
The driver of the 2006 Chevy Blazer was taken by Med Flight to a Madison hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
The other drivers were transported by EMS to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and an Inspector from the Wisconsin state Patrol. The names of the drivers are not being released at this time
TOWN OF RUTLAND (WKOW) --- Three ambulances and Medflight were called to an accident on Highway 14 south of Oregon.
The accident was called in around 10:30 a.m. near Old Stage Road in the Town of Rutland.
Lanes were closed in both directions for Medflight to land.
