Special Olympics Wisconsin team heads to New Jersey

MADISON (WKOW) -- 62 Wisconsin athletes are heading to New Jersey, getting ready to compete in the 2014 Special Olympics U.S.A. Games. 

Supporters and fans wished them good luck at a send-off celebration at Dane County Regional Airport Friday afternoon.

Team wisconsin athletes will compete in athletics, aquatics, bocce, bowling, flag football, gymnastics, volleyball and powerlifting beginning Saturday through June 21.

Peter Liu and Tyler Wigington of Madison and Jeffrey Jenks of Lake Mills are among the athletes competing in New Jersey.
