Group biking across America to raise money for cancer research

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Biking across America in the name of cancer research.

The group Bike 2 Believe left their hometown of Bismark, North Dakota about two weeks ago and made a stop in Madison at Gilda's Club on Friday.

The group is stopping at a number of cancer centers along their 2,500 mile journey to Tampa, Florida.

All money raised on their trip will benefit the Bismark Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society.
Joe Berger, who helped organize the ride, says, "Family, friends have had cancer, it hits home for everyone so we're really passionate about helping people and we're also super super active, so we just put two and two together, we're biking across America."

So far the group has raised $180,000 with a goal of raising $500,000.
