MADISON (WKOW) --- Many of you emailed us, called, and tweeted asking about this sea plane.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal the plane is a restored 1951 Grumman HU-16B Albatross and is registered to TP Universal Exports in Egan, Minnesota.

The plane landed in Lake Mendota near Picnic Point before taking off and landing in Lake Monona.

One of our Twitter followers sent us the picture with someone actually on top of the plane in front of the Monona Terrace.
