UPDATE: Deputies say alcohol & speed were factors in fatal rollover crash

TOWN OF BERRY (WKOW) -- Dane County Sheriff's deputies believe alcohol and speed played a role in a fatal rollover crash in the Town of Berry.

The accident happened just before 1:00 a.m. Saturday. The Dane County Sheriff's Office says a Honda Accord was traveling southbound on Martinsville Road when it failed to negotiate a curve and a struck a tree at High Rise Road. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say the driver was transported to a local hospital by Med Flight with serious injuries. They believe alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash, though it remains under investigation.

The names of the people involved have not been released pending notification of their families.

TOWN OF BERRY (WKOW) -- One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a rollover crash in the Town of Berry overnight.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened just before 1:00 a.m. Saturday on Martinsville Road near High Rise Road. The sheriff's office says two people were in the vehicle when it rolled One was killed. The other was taken to the hospital and is considered critical. Their names have not been released.

Deputies say the crash is under investigation.
