MADISON (WKOW) -- People were running and paddling Saturday morning for the Duck Dash in Madison.
The first leg of the Duck Dash race is a canoe paddle across Lake Wingra, followed by an 8K run through the UW Arboretum.
The race is put on by Wingra Boats and money raised at the event goes to Clean Lakes Alliance to improve outdoor education in our area. Organizers say the Duck Dash is a great way to enjoy Madison's lakes.
"We're thrilled that people were out enjoying the lakes on such a beautiful day," says Paul Dearlove watershed program manager with Clean Lakes Alliance. "You know, too many time people are off at the swimming pools and ignoring our beaches and it's just a phenomenal way to raise money for a good cause for education to lakes."
There was also a shorter, family-friendly 2K event for people who wanted to walk back after the canoe paddle.
