Madison man injured after being hit by car

MADISON (WKOW) –A Madison man is in the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle on East Washington Avenue Saturday night.

The City of Madison Police Department says it responded to a motor vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at 9:21 p.m. in the 3500 block of East Washington Ave. The driver, a 53-year-old Whitewater man, was inbound on East Washington Avenue when he hit the 56-year-old victim who was apparently crossing the road mid-block.

Police say the victim was taken to a local hospital, but his injuries do not appear life threatening. The crash remains under investigation. Police believe there may have been additional witnesses to the crash, and are asking anyone with information to call 608-266-4622.
