Dane County crash leads to OWI arrest

DANE CO (WKOW) -- An early Sunday evening crash lead to man being arrested for his OWI 5th offense.

According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, a single vehicle struck a utility pole on Halverson Road near Lake Kegonsa Road in the Town of Dunn around 5:45 p.m.

33-year-old William Atkinson of Stoughton lost control of his vehicle, hit a guide wire, and then struck the utility pole. Atkinson was removed from the vehicle and taken to UW Hospital via med flight with serious but non life threatening injuries.

Atkinson was arrested for OWI, and cited for open intoxicants and no proof of insurance.
