Wisconsin sees late start to tornado season

Posted: Updated:
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The National Weather Service says there's a good chance Wisconsin will see at least one tornado this week.
The National Weather service says a tornado before 6 p.m. Tuesday would give Wisconsin its sixth latest start since record keeping began. After that, the state would move into one of the top five slots.
The latest start to a Wisconsin tornado season since the weather service began tracking such details in 1950 was in 1995. A tornado didn't touch down until 6:15 p.m. on June 28, 1995.
The weather service says there is a risk of severe weather Monday night through Wednesday, and Wisconsin is likely to see a tornado during that time.
