Governor Walker tours storm damage in Verona and Platteville

Posted: Updated:
VERONA (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker surveyed some of the damage in both Verona and Platteville on Tuesday.

While in Verona, he thanked first responders for their efforts.

He also said while the damage is bad, it could be worse.

Governor Walker says, "You never wanna have something like this, certainly if it's one of your homes. I was just talking to the parents of one of the homeowners over here and obviously if it's your house you feel devastated but it's the chief mention without significant injury. I think that alone is something to be blessed with."

The governor said they will continue to have Wisconsin Emergency Management staff working with officials in Verona and Dane county
