Crews rescue men from flooded ditch

Posted: Updated:

GERMANTOWN (WKOW) -- Firefighters rescued a group of men whose truck rolled into a flooded ditch in Germantown. They say it was a good thing the truck didn't flip over.

"If the vehicle was upside down," Germantown firefighter Steve Goetz says, "we might be talking about a different situation here."

It happened Wednesday morning along Highway 41/45.

When rescuers arrived two of the men who had been in the truck were already on the roadside. The third man was stuck on the other side of the drainage ditch, so crews had to lay ladders across the ditch to reach him.

Officials say two of the men were taken to the hospital, and all of them are expected to be okay.
