ALGOMA (WKOW) -- A Veterans Service Officer is searching for the owner of a Vietnam missing-in-action bracelet.  He found it on the Ahnapee trail in Algoma.

The name on the band is Staff Sergeant Steven Hastings with the date August 1,1968 written next to it.  That was the day Sgt. Hastings disappeared.

Joe Aulik is the Veterans Service Officer in Kewaunee County.  He says, "It's not just a general bracelet, there's someone's name on there.  They are trying to remember them, it could be very important."

Aulik tracked down the younger brother of Sgt. Hastings, Tim in Southern California.  It has been 47 years since the last time they spoke.

"I hugged him and wouldn't let go of him and I kept telling him I didn't want him to go and he said don't worry, I'll be back" says Tim.

If the bracelet belongs to someone to you know contact Aulik by phone at (920)388-7198.

If no one claims the bracelet, it'll be displayed at the Kewaunee County Veterans Service Office.
