Neighbor dispute in Beaver Dam leads to one arrest

Posted: Updated:
BEAVER DAM (WKOW) -- Shortly before 9:00 Wednesday night, Beaver Dam police were called to a neighbor dispute on Haskell Street.

Investigating officers were told the dispute involved a disagreement over one neighbor throwing a chainsaw into Beaver Dam Lake.  The suspect is alleged to have previously made threats to kill the complainant and the complainant's family.  The suspect, a 36-year-old man, had attempted to obtain firearms earlier in the day from a family residence in the Township of Beaver Dam.  Days prior, the complainant saw the suspect in possession of a handgun.

Officers stated the suspect was uncooperative, and family and neighbors reported being concerned over the well being of him.  A search warrant was obtained for the residence and was executed by Beaver Dam Police and the Dodge County Sheriff's Department's SWAT team.

The suspect was taken into custody just after 1:00 Thursday morning without incident.  No firearms were located inside.

The suspect was evaluated by Beaver Dam EMS and taken to the Dodge County Jail.  Charges of disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim will be sent to the Dodge County District Attorney's Office.
