Traveling salesman has gun pulled on him

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) -- While displaying clothing from the back of his van, a traveling salesman, had a gun pulled on him in the 200 block of Kennedy Heights Wednesday night.

The victim, who has a permit to peddle the clothing, and his associate pulled over after a group of younger men yelled: "Let's see what you got!"  The 42-year-old pulled over and opened the van's side door.  One of the men eventually grabbed for a belt, which had a price tag of $75, but was asked by the peddler not to touch the merchandise.  The 44-year-old associate and the prospective buyer then got into a tug-of-war.

Another man from the group then produced a handgun and pointed it at the sales team.  Police were then called.  The group fled in a vehicle and have not been located.
