Sauk County offering flood clean-up kits

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Flood clean-up kits are being offered in Sauk County after some reports of water in basements.

Sauk County Emergency Management began handing the kits out on Friday at Sauk County Courthouse in Baraboo.

Jeff Jelinek, the Sauk Co. Emergency Management director, said they've received a few calls about people having water in their basements and they're just trying to help them out.

"We don't have a tremendous amount of impact in the area, but the kits are designed to help people clean up with the bleach, and scrub brushes, and things like that, so just a goodwill gesture to help the residents of our county out," Jelinek said.

The kits include a mop, broom, sponges, bleach, scrub brushes, soap, insecticide and a couple other items.

"This is something we do each time we have a heavy rain event, or in the spring when the spring thaws, we have areas in the county that end up getting some water," Jelinek said.

The kits are available Monday through Friday at the courthouse from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
