Pools attempt record for world's largest swimming lesson

Posted: Updated:
MCFARLAND (WKOW) -- Pools across the world join forces in an attempt to set a new world-record on Friday.

The Angie O'Donnel Aquatic Center in McFarland was one more than 700 centers worldwide to participate in the world's largest swimming lesson.

The current record stands at more then 32,000 participants, which was set last year.

Nick Weiss, of the Angie O'Donnell Aquatic Center says, "We have a great turnout here, looks like we have 75 to 80 people participating right here and I imagine its like that all over the place."

While it's not official, it's likely the record was broken Friday, as more than 40,000 people world-wide pre-registered to take part in the swimming lesson.
