BROOKLYN (WKOW) -- A Rockford, Illinois man is arrested in Brooklyn for his second OWI offense, according to the Green County Sheriff's Office.
Around 1:00 a.m. Friday deputies responded to Highway 104 and County Trunk Highway C in the Town of Brooklyn for a report of a vehicle in the ditch. While deputies were on their way there, the vehicle was able to get out of the ditch and drive away. Deputies stopped the vehicle for numerous violations.
The driver, Andrew S. Hafferty, 28 of Rockford, was arrested for OWI 2nd offense (alcohol). He was also cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed and failure to maintain control a vehicle, failure to dim headlights and operating left of center.
Hafferty was released to a responsible party pending a court appearance. The Brodhead Police Department assisted the Green County Sheriff's Office with the case.
