Marshall family marching for justice

Posted: Updated:
MARSHALL (WKOW) -- A local family who lost a loved one two years ago in a motorcycle crash are sending a message.

Kim Sylvia's family drove a car in the Marshall Fireman's Festival Parade with a picture of her in the window.

In June 2012, a car pulled out in front of Sylvia and her husband's motorcycle. The driver was operating with a suspended license.

Joe Blaschka and his daughters want justice.

"I really didn't feel like it was enough, I mean they got to realize that many causes of death that you need to set a precedence. Other people think about it twice, and kind of make sure you watch out for motorcycles," said Sylvia's husband Joe Blaschka.

Investigators say 34-year-old Jesse Bergeron failed to yield to the motorcycle, which caused the crash. He was sentenced to nine months in jail and is expected to be released later this month.
