Cody Treul sentenced to life for Mauston killing

JUNEAU COUNTY (WKOW) -- The man found guilty of fatally shooting a woman and injuring another outside a Mauston bar last year has been sentenced.

Cody Treul (29) was in a Juneau County courtroom for his sentencing Monday morning.  He was found guilty of killing 29-year-old Gail Howland and injuring her friend, 23-year-old Ebony Lasher in May of 2013.  

Treul was given a life sentence to Count 1 of first degree intentional homicide. For Count 2 of attempted first degree intentional homicide he also was sentenced to 30 years in prison and ten years extended supervision.  Those terms will be served consecutively. 

Treul is not eligible for challenge incarceration or substance abuse programs.
