Jefferson parades through town, celebrating state title
JEFFERSON (WKOW) -- The Jefferson High School baseball team took to the streets on Monday evening to celebrate the program's first ever state title. Dozens lined Main Street in Jefferson, as the baseball players drove by in a fire truck and on the back of a wagon carrying their Division-2 state championship trophy. The 2014 title is the schools third all-time and the first since 2005.
"It's remarkable to have the season we had and now to see it pay off and to see all the community coming it's awesome," Jefferson senior Andy Brahier said. "Coming to reunions, this will be something I can talk to the guys about my whole life."
"I'm never going to forget a group of kids like this," Jefferson head coach Greg Fetherston said. "From the beginning we put 2014-blank, what do you want to be remembered by? And you can see it here 2014 champs, 10 seniors, great way to go out."
