CDI becomes One City Early Learning Centers Incorporated

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A local non-profit hopes its re-launch will help bridge the achievement gap in Madison.

South Madison Child Development Incorporated, or CDI, is re-organizing and changing its name to One City Early Learning Centers Incorporated.

Its mission will remain the same, supporting the education of young children and their families.

"The primary focus is preparing those babies to be able to read, compute and succeed by the time that they get to first grade, not after," says managing consultant Kaleem Caire.

One City also plans on expanding.

Right now, its Fisher Street location serves 38 children.

Eventually the group's goal is to serve 1600 kids in 10 locations across Dane County within the next seven years.
