Posted: Updated:
EDGERTON (WKOW) -- 20 kids in Rock County got the chance to fish with some police officers on Tuesday.

The sheriff's office got a $1,000 dollar grant to start the Cops and Bobbers event.

Officials say it opens up the kid's eyes to something they possibly haven't done before.

Sheriff Robert Spoden, of the Rock County Sheriff's Department says, "We're hoping the kids are gonna come away with a new respect for the sport of fishing  it's something that you can do the rest of your life once you know how to do it."

There will be two more Cops and Bobbers events this summer.

Officials hope they will be able to continue it for years to come.
