Kenosha Co. man escapes serious injury after crashing into train

Posted: Updated:

PLEASANT PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- A Kenosha County man is lucky to be alive, after he slammed his vehicle into a stopped train near 95th Street and Highway H in Pleasant Prairie.

The accident happened around midnight Thursday, according to Kenosha News.

Officers at the scene say the train was stopped at the time, and the driver did not see it as most of the train cars were painted black.  That crossing does not have lights or signals.

The man needed to be extricated from the car and was taken to an area hospital, where he is expected to recover.  Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
