Infant deaths down in Janesville

Posted: Updated:
JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- The Janesville police department's partnership with health care providers is evidently making a difference in preventing infant sleeping deaths.

From 2005 to 2010 a dozen infants in Janesville died in their sleep.

A new program  between the department and area hospitals was started in 2011 to teach prenatal classes that include safe sleeping practices.

Since those classes began, police say Janesville has had no preventable, sleep-related infant deaths.
