JOHNSON CREEK (WKOW) -- A dramatic scene unfolded late Saturday night at a Jefferson County bar, as people are forced to jump to safety after a fire last night.

Ten fire departments were called to the scene at tappers bar in Johnson Creek just before midnight.

One firefighter was hurt, but it's unclear how serious his injuries are.

The bar was open at the time, and the owners say patrons were forced to jump to safety from the second floor.

"People were in the bar, while it was on fire, they had no clue. They tried to get upstairs. It was engulfed in smoke. They jumped off the back roof, they had stacks of picnic tables and jumped into my buddies arms and thank god they weren't hurt," said owner Pat Leitner.

There's no word yet on how the fire started, or how extensive the damages are.
