Rock Co. to test tornado sirens Wednesday

Posted: Updated:

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- The Rock County Sheriff's Office wants to remind people the county will test its Outdoor Warning System sirens on Wednesday, part of the county's monthly testing from April through October every year.

The sirens are tested at 12:05 pm on the first Wednesday of each month, except in the event of actual threatening weather.

Wednesday's test signal will be 1-2 minutes long. In the event of an actual tornado warning, the sirens would sound steadily for 3-5 minutes.

The sheriff's office asks the people of Rock County to tune in to their local radio stations or weather radios for all weather related information and instructions when the sirens are sounded.
