Food is needed at Salvation Army Food Pantry

MADISON (WKOW) -- A food pantry in Janesville is asking for your help to assist families in need this summer.The Salvation Army Food Pantry says they have seen a big increase in families looking for food, and as a result supplies are quickly becoming depleted.

The Salvation Army is now reaching out to the community for help in filling the shelves. Officials say they are in need of canned tuna and chicken, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned vegetables and fruit, canned pasta, cereal and much more. 

If you can donate, bring a non-perishable food items to the the Salvation Army Corps Community Center or the Food Pantry, located at 514 Sutherland Avenue in Janesville.

In Madison, The River Food Pantry says they have expanded their hours in early June to account for the greater need.  The pantry provides just over 35-thousand pounds of food each week and says donations are always appreciated.
