MADISON (WKOW) -- Former Madison Alderperson Bridget Maniaci announced Wednesday that she has filed paperwork to run as a candidate in Madison's April 2015 mayoral race.

Maniaci served four year on the Madison Common Council, representing the East Isthmus 2nd District. She was elected in 2009 after unseating incumbent Brenda Konkel.

In a press release she says, "over the coming weeks and months I look forward to engaging directly with Madison's many diverse neighborhoods and communities about the direction of Madison's future and its need for catalytic leadership."

During her time on the council, Maniaci pushed for tenants' rights, building inspection improvement and voting access.
