Wisconsin Dells still search for man who reportedly jumped from bridge

Posted: Updated:
WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Dells Police Department says it will continue to conduct searches for a man who jumped into the Wisconsin River last Saturday, June 28.

Police now believe the man, Alexander, McNair, was in a dispute with a woman before he jumped.

The department says it received simultaneous reports that Saturday night: one for a female with a broken arm and one for a person jumping from a bridge.

Police believe McNair and the female had some sort of altercation under the railroad tracks on Broadway (State Highway 13), roughly 50 feet east of the bridge, and the female broke her arm during the altercation.

Police say McNair was seen in the river a significant distance from shore when officer arrived, but then went under the water.

Police say there have been daily searches for McNair and that the Columbia County Dive Team conducted dives on June 29 and July 3 covering areas of the Upper Dells and Lower Dells near the dam.
