MADISON (WKOW) -- Police are investigating after a spike in burglaries on Madison's southwest side.
They say those living in the Prairie Hills, Greentree, Meadowood and Orchard Ridge areas have seen an increase in break-ins.
Some also reported increase of suspicious people in their neighborhoods, apparently looking for homes that could be easy targets.
Larry Nelson, of the Orchard Ridge Neighborhood Association says, "The disconcerning part is that they seem to be coming more emboldened in this and it's increasing, and even though the police department put more resources into it, we haven't heard of any arrest."
Police say the burglaries have been going on since march, and urge residents to lock their cars, doors and windows at night, or when they're not home.
