UPDATE: 18-year-old in critical condition after early morning crash

MADISON (WKOW) -- An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after a rollover accident early Saturday morning on WIS 30 at East Washington Avenue.

According to the City of Madison Police Department, officials responded to the crash just before 3 a.m. The driver appears to have been traveling outbound on WIS 30 at a high speed when he lost control and the vehicle rolled. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

It is unknown if the driver was wearing a seatbelt. Police say speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.


MADISON (WKOW) -- All eastbound lanes of WIS 30 are now open. The vehicle has been towed from the scene as of 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Police are on the scene of an early morning accident that's blocking traffic.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the eastbound lanes of WIS 30 are closed at U.S.151 for an accident. The accident happened around 2:55 a.m. and as of 5:20 a.m., but lanes were still blocked and police were on scene, according to DOT traffic cameras.

There's no word on injuries yet.
