Warner Park brings back 5th of July Celebration

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW)-- The Independence Day celebrations continue in Madison Saturday at Warner Park.

For the last 2 decades the park hosted Rhythm and Booms, but since that show relocated, the Northside community decided to bring back the fifth of July celebration. There was a parade as well as a patriotic ceremony. Organizers say they wanted to re-start the family-friendly tradition.

“This is a revival of a tradition that was on the Northside before Rhythm and Booms decided to have their event here,” said Chris Lemay, the coordinator of the parade. “We wanted to bring it back to a family event, non alcoholic, family games, safe place for families to be with their tradition.”

The event continues with the Madison Mallards baseball game followed by more celebrations. It will all end with a fireworks show at dusk from Warner Park.
