Music festival debuts

Posted: Updated:

STOUGHTON (WKOW) -- The Fourth of July weekend played host to the first ever Catfish Rover Music Festival in Stoughton.

Festival organizers say the festival's debut at the Stoughton Opera House involved a focus on folk music, but featured acts with selections from other musical genres as well.

"Nothing but smiles," Opera House director Bill Brehm says in describing audience reaction. "Lots of families, lots of kids, it is a multigenerational event, so it's very family friendly," Brehm says.

Festival performers included Greg Brown, Iris Dement and Gillian Welch.
