Blue Green Algae in full bloom

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Blue-green algae is in full bloom on Madison area lakes.

The toxic, and sometimes deadly green slime forms during hot rainy weather, and can range from blue-green to reddish purple or brown.

If you see it in the water, keep your family and your pets on shore.

One beach Warner Park on Lake Mendota is closed Tuesday due to the algae.
