BALSAM LAKE (WKOW) -- A Northwestern Wisconsin woman faces homicide charges after she was accused with being drunk when she hit and killed a pedestrian with her car in January.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says Chad Hansen was walking in the roadway on State Highway 35 when he was hit by Jeanne Fisher.  Fisher told investigators she was unable to stop because of heavy snow.

According to our affiliate, WQOW, detectives say Fisher said she had four drinks and a shot at a bar and was on her way to another bar when the crash happened.  Officials say her blood alcohol level was about one and a half times the legal limit.

Fisher is now charged with homicide by drunk driving.
