MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police were called to Nonno's Italian Restaurant on S. Whitney Way for a disturbance involving kitchen staff.

Officers were called shortly after 6:00 Tuesday evening after the dishwasher, 18-year-old Julian Quintana, attacked the 32-year-old cook.  The victim stated he was punched several times by Quintana for no particular reason.  He said the two had no prior conflicts.  The cook was taken to a local hospital for treatment of facial injuries.

The cook had been punched, fell to the ground and was struck again until fellow employees intervened.  Quintana says he was only joking around.  He stated he had come up behind the cook, knocked his elbow, causing him to drop a chicken breast.

Quintana was arrested and charged with substantial battery.
