MADISON (WKOW) -- Two boaters were rescued after their sailboat capsized on Lake Monona Tuesday night.

According to authorities high winds caused the boat to capsize. A nearby observer on the shoreline called 911 when he saw the boaters struggling to get the boat upright.

Dane County Sheriff Marine and Trail deputies were able to pull the two boaters from the water and transport them to shore. No one was injured and crews were able to pull the boat out of the water as well.
