Find free local summer fun for kids

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) -- If your kids are aching for something to do but do not want to spend all of their allowance, there are plenty of free activities for children if you know where to look.

Ben and Jerry's Factory gives out free tours, and so do many other factories across the country.

Some movie theater chains offer free screenings for kids.  Look at your local movie theaters' websites or call them to see if there is a specific time or day that kids see movies for free.

If you're interested in getting your kids active this summer, try bringing them to the roller rink.  Roller rinks may have specials where kids skate for free.  Another activity is bowling.  Check to see if there's any free bowling for kids.

With a few ways to liven up summer for free, you can make sure that the summer sun is not burning a hole in your pocket.
