Marshfield Clinic gives back $10 million to state

Posted: Updated:
MARSHFIELD (WKOW) --     One of Wisconsin's largest clinics is giving a hefty grant back to the state.

Marshfield Clinic received a $10 million grant in 2010, but now they've decided they don't need the money.

The grant was supposed to be for a rural dental education facility. Brian Ewert, the executive director of Marshfield Clinic, said they accomplished their goals without having to use the grant.

"We've accomplished much of what we set out to do in looking that our goal was to improve dental workforce for central and northern Wisconsin we saw that we could accomplish that without using tax payers dollars to put up another building."

In the past five years the clinic has added six dental centers and 24 training centers in communities.
