Man arrested for waiving gun at cars

 UPDATE (WKOW) -- Madison police say they arrested 33-year-old Bernard Taylor after receiving multiple reports of Taylor pointing a gun at cars.


MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police arrested a man suspected of waiving a gun at multiple cars on the city's west side.

Officers were first called to Whitney Way near Hammersley Ave. around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on a report the man was waiving a gun at a dark-colored SUV. Police say multiple callers reported similar incidents at different locations on the west side. The callers described a man getting out of his vehicle and pointing the gun at other cars.

Officers found the man's vehicle a short time later and pulled it over on University Avenue near Craig Avenue.

Police say the 33-year-old man had two children, ages six and two, with him. There was also a gun in the vehicle.

Officers arrested the man. The children were turned over to a family member.

No one was hurt.
