UPDATE (WKOW) -- The U.S. Coast Guard told our affiliate, WBAY, that the three missing Door County kayakers have been found safe.

Coast guard officials say Friday morning a military helicopter spotted them in Green Bay on top of their kayaks.

WBAY reports the kayakers were being flown to the Menominee Airport to be checked out.

DOOR COUNTY (WKOW) -- The search for missing kayakers near Door County resumed at 5 a.m. Friday, but the Coast Guard had crews looking for them throughout the night.

Our affiliate, WBAY, says a 43-year-old woman and two 9-year-old boys went out on Nicolet Bay at Peninsula State Park on Thursday.  Authorities were alerted when they had not returned at 6:30.

Crews from the U.S. Coast Guard, Door County Sheriff's Office, Department of Natural Resources, and fire departments are assisting in the search.

Authorities say the woman was wearing a yellow life jacket and went out in a yellow kayak.  The boys were in an orange, two-person kayak.  One boy had a red life jacket, the other had a blue one.
