West Bend boy takes car on ride to grandma's house, again

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON COUNTY (WKOW) -- Remember the little boy who stole the family car to drive to his grandmother's house?  He did it again!

The Washington County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a car traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of traffic on Neward Drive in the Town of Farmington Sunday morning.

The caller told authorities the vehicle appeared to be occupied by two young children and the boy driving was not able to keep the vehicle in the correct lane.  A deputy was able to intercept the vehicle, but before making a stop, the boy went into the ditch.  No one was injured and the vehicle was not damaged.

Deputies identified the driver as the same nine-year-old West Bend boy who stole the family vehicle one month ago.  In the vehicle with him was his four-year-old sibling.

The kids were transported by the deputy to the Sheriff's Office to meet with officers from the West Bend Police Department, members of the Washington County Acute Care Services and the children's parents.  The Sheriff's Office will not seek any traffic related charges on the children.
