War vet meets his rescuer

Posted: Updated:
LA CROSSE (WKOW) -- A Wisconsin veteran met face-to-face the man who helped save him when he was hit by a roadside bomb three years ago.

Sergeant Dan Rose was paralyzed after the attack in Afghanistan.

Kevin Hubert was in the first recovery vehicle to reach the scene.

They got to see each other for the first time at a golf tournament in La Crosse Monday to help the Wounded Warrior Project.

"It's huge for all the vets. It's good to see Dan's pushing through for all the wounded warriors, that he can walk and not be in a wheelchair," says Hubert.

Rose is wheelchair-bound but he is part of a research program using a bionic suit to help him walk again.

He is just the second veteran to have such a suit.
