Dane County Fair kicks off today

DANE COUNTY (WKOW)-- Today is the first day of the the Dane County Fair and the fun is already underway. Tickets are $8 for general admission but if you come before 3 p.m.. on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, they are only $3. Kids age 6-11 can get in for $3 and kids under 5 get in free.

This year there are lots of exciting things happening at the fair. Bruno's Tigers show will be performing shows daily at 1 p.m.., 3 p.m.., and 5 p.m. at the

Outdoor Trade Mall. Bruno and his tigers will jump and leap through hoops, and walk on high wires. The audience will also have the chance to learn all about tigers natural behavior and how they are facing extinction.

Also at the Outdoor Trade Mall, Circus Una Productions performs daily at 2 p.m.., 4 p.m..and 6 p.m.. A trio of all female dare-devils will roar through the air. The performance is complete with a motorcyclist and trapezes artists balancing on a high wire.

The Dane County Fair also has a wide variety of free concerts coming up:

· Wednesday: Kat Dahlia, Tinashe and Love Dollhouse

· Thursday: Otherwise, Like a Storm and Bridge to Grace

· Friday: Wayland, Gemini Syndrome and Stars in Stereo

· Saturday: Madison County

· Sunday: Family Fiesta entertainment and activities featuring Los Creadorez, Estrella Latina and many more.

The fair is located at the Alliant Energy Center, just off of Rimrock rd. and parking is free.
