GRANT COUNTY (WKOW) --- The Grant County Sheriff's Office released details into what happened to the 9-year-old who died after being trapped in a grain bin July 10.
Officials say the 9-year-old boy climbed the ladder into the bin for unknown reasons and fell in. The boy's siblings told the father he was missing and that is when they called for help realizing what had happened.
Previously, officials say they thought the boy was helping the family fix an auger that was jammed, but they now say that was not what happened.
The Sheriff's Department says they investigation is over and is being ruled accidental.
The grain bin accident happened July 10 at a home in Liberty Township just outside Lancaster.
